Protests in Europe - a Conspiracy
Here's what I think is going on in Europe as a European. It is a bit conspiracy coded but simultaneously, I think it actually makes a lot of sense.
- The financial elite are richer and more powerful than ever before and REFUSE to contribute a fair share of their wealth to society through taxes.
- This has resulted in global economic stagnation for the middle and lower class. The fact that most young people can no longer afford a house really says it all.
- Frustrations keep on mounting so people turn to the streets and protest.
- The elite want to stay in power and prevent the people from being united against them.
- Hence, they fund extremist political groups to incite violence and destruction during the protests. It is extremely easy to rile up a frustrated, young and naive mass of people into doing stupid things.
- The extreme actions are filmed and posted online. Almost all important media platforms are owned by the elite. (Musk bought twitter/X for a reason) They make sure the algorithm pushes the violent content so that it goes viral.
- This causes division among the population because many people are hurt by seeing their cities and cultural heritage sites destroyed and tarnished.
- This is a great way to distract from the core message of the protests. The conversation is no longer about inequality, it is now about the vandalism.
- All of this 'conveniently' emboldens the right wing political parties and feeds into their anti-immigrant narratives1. (Musk has been linked to funding right wing political parties all over Europe)
- All of this blows over in a couple of weeks as the endless news cycle makes sure we're soon distracted with some new bullshit and most people move on. Nothing really changes and things get a lot worse before frustrations reach a new boiling point and the cycle repeats itself.
Immigration is a legitimate problem but we all know the real reason why some people are against it.↩
